Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) is a prominent public international university located in Famagusta, Northern Cyprus, established in 1979 and recognized as the only state university in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus with all programs fully accredited by the Turkish Higher Education Council (YÖK) and various international accrediting bodies. EMU offers education primarily in English, attracting a multicultural student body from over 100 countries, and provides more than 100 undergraduate and over 100 postgraduate degree programs across 12 faculties and 5 schools in disciplines such as engineering, sciences, business and economics, social sciences, medicine, dentistry, and more, emphasizing research, innovation, and critical thinking. Many of its programs hold prestigious international accreditations, including ABET for engineering, FIBAA for business, and AQAS for educational programs, and the university is a full member of global academic associations such as the International Association of Universities, European University Association, Community of Mediterranean Universities, and the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World, with global recognition supported by agencies like YÖDAK and UK ENIC.
