Munster Technological University (MTU) is a public technological university in Ireland established on 1 January 2021 from the merger of Cork Institute of Technology and Institute of Technology, Tralee. MTU serves over 18,000 students and employs more than 2,000 academic and support staff across its campuses. The university has a multi‑campus structure, with six campuses in Cork and County Kerry, including Bishopstown, national maritime, music and design campuses. It offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programmes in fields such as business, engineering, science, computing, humanities, art, and music. MTU is strong in industry engagement, research and innovation, often ranking first among technological universities in Ireland for research income and collaboration with enterprises. It welcomes international students from many countries and emphasises practical, career‑oriented learning with strong industry links.
