National College of Art & Design (NCAD) is Ireland’s oldest art institution, founded in 1746, with a long history in art and design education. It offers the widest range of undergraduate and postgraduate art and design degrees in the country. The college has a diverse student body, attracting learners from over 40 countries and strong international community. NCAD’s campus is located in the historic Liberties area of central Dublin, offering creative inspiration in the heart of the city. NCAD is a Recognised College of University College Dublin (UCD) and part of European art education networks. It is consistently ranked among the top 51–100 art and design institutions worldwide in the QS World University Rankings by Subject (2025).
