VSB – Technical University of Ostrava is a public technical university located in Ostrava, Czech Republic. Founded in 1849, it is one of the oldest and most respected technical universities in Europe. The university focuses on high‑quality education and research in engineering, technology, natural sciences, economics, and business. It maintains strong collaboration with industry and global academic partners, offering practical and research‑oriented training to its students. VSB‑TUO consists of seven faculties, including mining and geology, materials science and technology, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and computer science, civil engineering, safety engineering, and economics. It offers Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD programs, with many courses available in English for international students. The campus is one of the largest and most advanced in Central Europe, equipped with cutting‑edge laboratories, research centers like the IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center, and industry‑linked innovation labs. International students are welcomed, and the university emphasizes research, technology development, and preparing graduates for global careers.
