University of Technology Malaysia (UTM) is a public research University in Malaysia, and a research-intensive university in engineering, science and technology, located in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia. UTM was established in 1972. Recently, the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education declared UTM to be the first Malaysian university to attain full autonomy from the government. This allows the university selecting the best of the regional students, as well as handling most of the management internally for a more efficient administration. Moreover, UTM is a graduate-focused university, with 56% of its student population consisting of postgraduate students, it has long participate d in a wide variety of collaborative relationships with universities, other institutions and individuals in many countries. This cooperation has been valuable to the University and provides exposure to new ideas and new perspectives.
