The University of the West of Scotland (UWS) is a well-established public university in the United Kingdom, recognised as one of the largest modern universities in Scotland. Its history dates back to 1897 with the founding of the Paisley College of Technology, and it gained full university status in 1992, adopting its current name in 2007. UWS offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and research degrees across diverse academic areas including business, engineering, health and life sciences, computing and technology, education, social sciences, and creative disciplines, with a strong emphasis on career-focused, practical learning that prepares students for real-world professional environments. The university operates across five campuses, with four located in Paisley, Ayr, Dumfries, and Lanarkshire in the west and southwest of Scotland, and an additional London campus serving international students.
